Winter is almost upon us.

Did you knot that this time of year there will be a peak in Carbon Monoxide related accidents, due to cold weather? We strive to educate our clients and since it’s currently Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month we want to take this opportunity to share some useful tips to help you and your family stay safe.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is known as the silent killer because it is colorless, odorless, tasteless and cannot be detected by humans unless alarms or detectors are used. Our intention is not to scare you, but to empower you with information on how to help you avoid the dangers of CO.

Here are six useful tips:

1. Install and check CO detectors.

2. Never use a gas stove for heat.

3. Keep CO producing equipment outside.

4. Keep chimneys clear.

5. Warm up vehicles outside.

6. Tune-up the furnace.
